xAI has made Grok Bot a team product. On September 28, 2026, SpaceXAI posted "Today we're launching Team Bots, Grok Bots that work and learn alongside your team." The idea: build one Bot around a role your team shares, give it the files and apps it needs, and let everyone work from it.

## What a Team Bot is

Two details decide how it feels to use. First, privacy: "Although the Bot is shared, each person's conversations with it remain private." xAI says the Bot keeps separate context and memories for each user and shares only the skills. Second, Slack: "Each Team Bot has its own handle", so a team can pull it into a channel and see its answers together.

## How xAI says it uses Team Bots

xAI describes four Team Bots running inside the company, each also offered as a template.

The numbers in the post are xAI's own and its customers'. xAI says its engineering Bot steered a Cursor project that ended up "helping a five-person team ship more than 100 PRs a day", and that its data team handed Data Bot a skill library for "working with more than 45,000 tables". Harper, an insurer, is quoted through its CEO Dakotah Rice: "We built a Team Bot in 24 hours to automate this, saving our customers over $120,000 from hundreds of policies."

## Who can get it, and what it costs

In xAI's words: "Team Bots is available today in public beta on Teams and Enterprise plans." Pre-built templates cover sales, product management, marketing and data analytics, and the launch post offers the desktop app for macOS.

xAI published no separate price for Team Bots. Its Grok Bot docs say that on the Teams plan Grok Bot is "Included; every member has access, and usage follows the seat's allowance." Several admin settings, such as Team Secrets and network controls, are Enterprise only, per the same docs.

## What the docs still say about the computer

The launch post does not say where a shared Team Bot runs. xAI's Grok Bot docs, read the day of launch, describe one computer per person: "The computer is assigned per user, not per Bot. Do not use separate Bots as a security boundary." For a workload that needs its own space, the docs say: "When a workload needs its own computer and credential set, give it its own Cursor user."

The sharing section also predates the launch. It still says "Adding a shared Bot creates a copy on the recipient's account." A Team Bot is a single shared Bot, so we expect those pages to change. Until they do, the question to ask xAI before handing a Team Bot shared credentials is whose computer it runs on. ## What xAI did not say

- **Price.** No Team Bots price and no date for leaving public beta.
- **The computer.** Where a shared Team Bot runs, and whose account its logins sit on.
- **The model.** The launch post names no model behind Team Bots.
- **Platforms.** The post offers a macOS download; it says nothing about Windows for Team Bots.
