## Key points

- Meta launched spaces in Muse on November 6, 2026: custom mini-apps you create by describing an idea, available everywhere Muse is.
- You can pin a space to the sidebar, move it into the main tabs, hide it, or schedule when it appears, such as a weekday planner swapped on Saturday.
- Spaces update themselves in the background from the apps you connect, with new dates, prices or progress showing up without asking.
- Meta's nine examples include a school dashboard, a wedding planner, an order tracker for a small business and a client hub for freelancers.
- A day earlier, Meta rolled out real-time voice and expressive avatars in the Muse app in the US, with hundreds of voices.
- Meta does not say how often spaces refresh, whether they can act on their own, or whether outside connectors can feed them.

## At a glance

- **What are Muse spaces?** Custom mini-apps inside Meta's Muse app, launched November 6, 2026. You describe an idea, Muse builds it, and the space keeps itself up to date from the apps you connect.
- **Who can use spaces?** Meta says spaces are available everywhere Muse is available, starting November 6, 2026.
- **Can I share a space?** Not yet. Meta says it is exploring ways to share spaces with others.

Meta added spaces to its Muse app on November 6, 2026: custom mini-apps you create inside Muse just by describing an idea, such as a gift tracker, a school dashboard or an order tracker for a small business. Each space sits in Muse's sidebar or main tabs, can be scheduled to appear at certain times, and keeps itself up to date in the background from the apps you connect. Meta says spaces are available everywhere Muse is available, starting the same day.

It is the second Muse launch in two days. On November 5, Meta rolled out real-time voice conversations and expressive avatars in the Muse app in the US, the feature it previewed at Connect 2026. Together they push Muse from a chat window toward a personal app that builds its own screens and talks back.

## What a space is

In Meta's words, "A space is a custom experience you create inside Muse by describing your idea". The flow has three parts:

- **You describe it.** "Tell Muse about it, and it builds it for you." The first version is a starting point; you keep adjusting it by asking Muse to add what is missing, change the look or change how it works.
- **You place it.** Spaces can be pinned to the sidebar, moved into the main tabs, hidden, or scheduled. Meta's example: keep a weekly planner up front during the workweek, then swap it for weekend plans on Saturday.
- **It keeps itself current.** "Connect the apps you use, and your spaces keep themselves up to date in the background, so new concert dates, price changes, or savings progress show up without you having to ask." You can also check things off, add notes and edit inside the space.

## What people can build

Meta lists nine example spaces. Seven are personal; two are small-business or freelance work.

*Table: Meta's nine example spaces, by use (Meta, November 6, 2026)*

| Use | Example space | What it brings together |
|---|---|---|
| Shopping | Gift and shopping hub | Gift ideas, Instagram saves, Marketplace listings and buyer messages |
| Family | School dashboard | Events found in school emails, added to your calendar |
| Hobbies | Music tracker | New releases and upcoming shows |
| Life events | Wedding planner | RSVP list, vendor invoices and to-dos |
| Fun | Trivia game | Quizzes on movies, music or a sports team |
| Creative | Podcast studio | Episode ideas, research and scripts |
| Small business | Order tracker | New orders, customer messages and what ships today |
| Freelance | Client hub | Projects, deadlines and invoices |
| Travel | Trip planner | Flights, hotel, reservations and a day-by-day itinerary |

Several examples draw on Meta's own apps (Instagram saves, Marketplace messages), which is where Muse has an edge no outside assistant has: the data already lives in your Meta account.

## Muse this week

*Table: What Meta shipped in Muse on November 5 and 6, 2026 (Meta newsroom)*

| Date | Launch | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| November 5 | Real-time voice conversations, with interruptions, from the phone icon in the app | Muse app on mobile, web and Mac, US first |
| November 5 | Expressive avatars: voice only, avatar alongside, or full screen; hundreds of voices | Muse app, US first |
| November 6 | Spaces: custom apps built by describing an idea, kept current from connected apps | Everywhere Muse is available |
| November 6 | Specialized models trained using Muse Wonder, with Active Memory and Active Focus | Muse and Meta AI |

Two items are announced but not shipped: voice conversations on Meta's AI Glasses and Muse Charm, which Meta says are coming soon, and sharing spaces with other people, which Meta says it is exploring.

## The model underneath: Active Memory and Active Focus

The same day, Meta changed the model behind Muse. Meta AI Research says Muse and Meta AI now run on "specialized versions of our existing models, trained using Muse Wonder", its most capable series, and that both pick up two of Wonder's traits ([Meta AI Research](https://research.meta.ai/blog/specialized-models-for-muse-and-metaai), November 6, 2026).

- **Active Memory.** Meta says it trained the models "to recognize what type of information is temporary versus permanent, to reason across time, and to distinguish between what is still relevant and what has become stale." In Muse it reports "a 2.4x reduction in forgetting critical information necessary for helping you achieve your goals."
- **Active Focus.** Meta says it "enables Muse to continue working toward a goal, even when faced with unexpected challenges", and reports "a 67% improvement in completing everyday tasks where unexpected issues arise."

All of these are Meta's own numbers on Meta's own tests, with no outside replication yet. For spaces, the change matters more than it looks: a space you return to every day only works if the model remembers what you told it last week and keeps going when a step fails.

## What it means

Spaces is the consumer version of a change happening across assistants: instead of answering in a chat thread, the agent builds a screen around your data and keeps it running. The phrase that matters is "in the background". A space is a standing job, not a one-off answer, which makes it closer to software you own than to a conversation.

That raises questions Meta's post does not answer:

- **How often does a space refresh?** Meta gives examples (concert dates, price changes, savings progress) but no schedule or limits.
- **Can a space act, or only show?** You can check things off and edit inside a space, and the school dashboard adds events to your calendar. Meta does not say whether a space can send a message or make a purchase on its own. Muse routes what it sends to the internet through a second agent, Sentinel, according to [Meta's Muse security page](https://security.muse.ai/).
- **Which apps can feed a space?** Meta's examples use Instagram, Marketplace, email and calendars. Whether connectors from outside developers, listed through the [Muse connector platform](https://muse.ai/platform), can power spaces is not stated.

## Where CellCog fits

Our conflict, declared: we build CellCog, and we have submitted a CellCog connector to Meta's Muse directory; it is not listed yet. Spaces and CellCog solve neighbouring problems. Spaces gives your personal Muse a home screen for your own life. A CellCog AI employee owns a role at work: it builds and refreshes dashboards and apps for a business, works across a team with managers, and every action that reaches your accounts passes an approval rail the owner sets. When our connector is listed, Muse can send that kind of finished work to CellCog and keep the result in Muse.

## What is not established yet

- **Refresh rules.** No refresh frequency, cost or limit is published for background updates.
- **Sharing.** Meta is exploring shared spaces; there is no date.
- **Outside data.** Whether third-party connectors can feed a space is not stated in the launch post.
- **Voice outside the US.** Voice and avatars start in the US; Meta gives no date for other countries.

## Where to watch

- Shared spaces, which would turn a personal app into a small team tool.
- Voice conversations on AI Glasses and Muse Charm.
- Whether Meta opens spaces to outside developers through the connector platform.

## FAQ

**How do I create a space in Muse?**

Describe the idea to Muse, for example a holiday gift tracker or a trip planner, and it builds the space. You then keep adjusting it by asking for changes.

**Where do spaces live in the app?**

You can add a space to the sidebar, move it into the main tabs, hide it, or schedule when it appears.

**How do spaces stay up to date?**

When you connect the apps you use, spaces update in the background. Meta does not publish a refresh schedule or limits.

**What else did Meta ship in Muse this week?**

On November 5, real-time voice conversations and expressive avatars in the Muse app in the US. On November 6, alongside spaces, specialized model versions trained with learnings from Muse Wonder.

**Is CellCog connected to Muse?**

We have submitted a CellCog connector to Meta's Muse directory. It is not listed yet.
