## Key points

- Salesforce signed a definitive agreement on November 2, 2026 to acquire Cresta, which it calls the voice-first operating system for customer experience.
- Cresta's voice agents resolve complex customer calls end to end for brands including Marriott, Comcast and Alaska Airlines.
- The same platform coaches human representatives in real time and analyzes every call; it will be brought together with Service Cloud.
- Salesforce did not disclose a price; The Information reports $2.7 billion, against Cresta's $1.6 billion valuation in 2022.
- The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of Salesforce's fiscal 2028, subject to regulatory approvals.

## At a glance

- **What is Cresta?** A contact center AI company whose voice agents take customer calls end to end, and whose platform coaches human representatives live and analyzes every interaction.
- **How much is Salesforce paying?** Salesforce did not say. The Information reported $2.7 billion, citing a person familiar with the deal.
- **When does the deal close?** In the first quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2028, which runs from February to April 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.

Salesforce said on November 2, 2026 that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cresta, which it calls "the voice-first operating system for customer experience." Cresta builds voice agents that take customer calls on their own, plus software that coaches human representatives live and analyzes every conversation.

Salesforce did not disclose a price. The Information reported $2.7 billion, citing a person familiar with the deal. Salesforce expects the deal to close in the first quarter of its fiscal year 2028, which runs from February to April 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.

Below: what Cresta does, what Salesforce says the combination is for, the funding history behind the reported price, and what the announcement leaves out.

## What Salesforce is buying

![Animated diagram: a customer call goes to Cresta, where a voice agent answers and a human representative is coached; Service Cloud adds the customer's history; both feed three outcomes: resolution, retention and revenue](https://cellcog.ai/blog/media/salesforce-acquires-cresta/voice.svg)
*Cresta brings the conversation, Salesforce brings the customer record*

In Salesforce's words, "Cresta's voice agents resolve complex customer calls end to end. Its platform guides human representatives in real time and analyzes every interaction, bringing people and voice agents together on one platform." The announcement names Marriott, Comcast and Alaska Airlines as brands that run on it.

The pitch for the combination is about context. Salesforce says conversations are "too often trapped in silos, disconnected from customer context and the tools teams use to act." Cresta knows what was said on the call; Service Cloud knows who the customer is and holds the systems that act on it. Together, Salesforce says, businesses can connect "every conversation to the customer and to the outcome it drives: resolution, retention and revenue."

One detail matters to Cresta's current customers: "After the transaction closes, Cresta will continue to support the leading contact center and telephony platforms its customers rely on today." Cresta does not have to be run on Salesforce's own contact center to keep working.

## What the two sides said

Kishan Chetan, who runs Agentforce and Service Cloud at Salesforce, put the case plainly: "Voice is where service is hardest to get right, and where it matters most to customers."

Ping Wu, Cresta's CEO, said the deal lets Cresta "realize our full vision at scale, embedding real-time conversation intelligence and agentic experiences directly into Salesforce's first-class customer service Platform."

## The price, against Cresta's funding history

The reported price is easiest to read against what Cresta raised. These figures come from Cresta's own press releases, except the last row.

*Table: Cresta funding and reported price (Cresta press releases; price per The Information)*

| Date | Event | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| March 17, 2022 | Series C, led by Tiger Global | $80 million at a $1.6 billion post-money valuation |
| November 19, 2024 | Series D, led by WiL and QIA | $125 million; total funding over $270 million |
| November 2, 2026 | Salesforce agreement, price undisclosed | $2.7 billion reported |

Cresta did not publish a valuation for its 2024 round, so 2022 is the last company-stated mark. If The Information's number holds, the price is about 1.7 times that valuation and about ten times the more than $270 million Cresta says it has raised in total.

## What the announcement does not say

- **Price and terms.** Neither the amount nor whether it is cash or stock.
- **Product name.** Salesforce says Cresta comes together "with Service Cloud," but does not say whether it becomes part of Agentforce or keeps its own brand.
- **Team.** Nothing on whether Ping Wu and Cresta's team stay on, or where they report.
- **Customers outside Salesforce.** It says Cresta keeps supporting other contact center platforms, but not for how long.
- **Filing.** No SEC filing about the deal was listed when we checked on November 2.

## What this means for businesses that answer the phone

The big platforms are betting that the phone call is where customer service gets decided, and that a voice agent is only as good as the customer context behind it. That is the right bet. A caller does not care how fluent the voice is if it cannot see their last order.

For a large contact center on Service Cloud, this deal is good news. For a small business, the problem is the same at a smaller size: calls come in, someone has to answer them, and the answer depends on knowing the customer. Our position, declared: we build [CellCog](https://cellcog.ai/ai-employees), where an AI employee can [hold its own phone number](https://cellcog.ai/blog/ai-employees-have-phone-numbers/), take calls, keep notes on every contact and follow up by email, so a small team gets a voice that remembers. We compete for some of the same work, so read our take with that in mind.

## What we are watching

- **The price, confirmed.** Whether Salesforce discloses terms in a filing or on its next earnings call.
- **Agentforce.** Whether Cresta's voice agents ship under the Agentforce name.
- **Contact center partners.** How long Cresta keeps supporting platforms that compete with Salesforce.
