## Key points

- Wabi raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation on October 29, 2026, led by IVP, with Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner and the Amazon Alexa Fund.
- Wabi puts one AI agent inside shared threads, so couples, families and friend groups talk to the same agent together.
- The agent builds mini-apps that stay in the thread: restaurant lists, meal plans that become grocery lists, trivia games, book club trackers.
- Personal data shared with Wabi is scoped to one chat, and everyone in it sees when someone's information is requested.
- Wabi is free for now and has not chosen a business model; it runs on iOS, Android and Mac, with Windows coming soon.
- With a November 2025 pre-seed of $20 million, Wabi's disclosed funding totals $75 million, in a crowded field that includes Instinct, Tolan, OpenAI dots and Meta Muse.

## At a glance

- **What is Wabi?** A personal AI assistant from Replika founder Eugenia Kuyda that lives in shared chat threads and builds small apps for the people in them.
- **How much did Wabi raise?** $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation on October 29, 2026, led by IVP. With a $20 million pre-seed, disclosed funding totals $75 million.
- **Is Wabi free?** Yes, for now. TechCrunch reported on October 19 that Wabi has not chosen a business model.

Wabi, the personal AI app from Replika founder Eugenia Kuyda, raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation on October 29, 2026. IVP led the round. Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner and the Amazon Alexa Fund joined, along with angels including Shopify's Tobi Lütke, Salesforce's Marc Benioff, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo and Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers. Kuyda [posted the news on X](https://x.com/ekuyda/status/2115819179756671330) at 14:52 UTC and called it a Series A. The company's [press release](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/wabi-raises-55-million-at-a-1-25-billion-valuation-following-strong-early-demand-302923254.html) calls it "$55 million funding" and does not say whether the valuation is pre- or post-money.

Her pitch fits in one line from that post: "Everyone has an operating system for their phone." Wabi wants to be the one for your life. The release calls it "a new kind of personal AI assistant built for life together". We read the release, Kuyda's post and [TechCrunch's coverage](https://techcrunch.com/2026/10/29/wabi-the-ai-agent-that-builds-mini-apps-now-valued-at-1-25b-after-latest-round/) of the round on October 29.

## What Wabi does

![Animated diagram: on the left one person types into one chat with an AI; on the right three people share one thread with an AI that drops three app cards, Restaurants, Meal plan and Trivia, under the thread](https://cellcog.ai/blog/media/wabi-raises-55m/thread.svg)
*Most assistants are one person, one chat; Wabi puts one agent in a shared thread*

Wabi is a messenger where an AI agent sits inside shared threads with the people in your life. Instead of one person typing into one chat box, a couple, a family or a book club talk to the same agent in the same thread, and the agent builds small apps for them on request. The release gives the examples: a running list of restaurants a couple checks off together, a weekly meal plan that turns into a grocery list, a trivia game for a birthday, a tracker for a book club. It also handles chores, from family schedules to booking appointments and planning trips.

The current version is a turn from where Wabi started. It launched as a way to build apps from prompts, and its 2.0 version made the agent the one that decides what to build. Per [TechCrunch's October 19 launch story](https://techcrunch.com/2026/10/19/replikas-founder-built-the-ai-assistant-she-pitched-at-disrupt-12-years-ago/), connecting your email makes Wabi spin up its first threads and apps on its own. Personal data you share is scoped to a single chat, everyone in the chat can see when someone's information is requested, and Kuyda said Wabi is SOC 2 compliant.

*Table: What Wabi is today, per its October 29, 2026 release and TechCrunch*

| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Product | Personal AI agent inside shared threads, plus mini-apps it builds |
| Platforms | iOS, Android and Mac; Windows coming soon |
| Price | Free for now; no business model chosen yet (TechCrunch, October 19) |
| Users | Not disclosed |
| Data sharing | Scoped to each chat; others see when your information is requested |
| Founder | Eugenia Kuyda, previously founder of Replika |

## The money

*Table: Wabi's disclosed funding, in millions of US dollars*

| Round | Date | Amount | Backers named |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-seed | November 2025 | 20 | Andreessen Horowitz and angels |
| This round | October 29, 2026 | 55 | IVP (lead), Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner, Amazon Alexa Fund, angels |

Together that is $75 million in disclosed funding, our sum rather than a figure Wabi published. The pre-seed comes from [TechCrunch's November 2025 report](https://techcrunch.com/2025/11/05/replika-founder-raises-20m-pre-seed-for-wabi-the-youtube-of-apps/). IVP's general partner Alex Lim, in the release: "She has a clear vision for how people will interact with AI, one that goes far beyond the text box or command line."

## Where Wabi sits

Personal agents are one of the busiest corners of AI this fall. TechCrunch's story places the round next to [Instinct](https://cellcog.ai/blog/what-is-instinct-ai/), which it says raised another billion at a $10 billion valuation in September, and [Tolan](https://cellcog.ai/blog/tolan-raises-30m/), which raised $30 million. OpenAI has [dots](https://cellcog.ai/blog/openai-dots/), Meta has [Muse](https://cellcog.ai/blog/what-is-muse/), and xAI's Grok Bot keeps adding roles. Kuyda put her product against two of them in the October launch interview: Wabi is "doing what Instinct and Muse do, but it also has all these apps".

What sets Wabi apart is who is in the room. Most assistants serve one person at a time. Wabi bets that the next useful step happens between people: the shared plan, the shared list, the shared mental load. The mini-apps make that stick, because a list or a tracker outlives the chat that made it.

## Our read

CellCog builds AI employees for work, not for life at home. Each one holds a role, keeps their own memory and task board, works on their own secure computer, and hands back finished work. Wabi and CellCog still share one bet: a chat reply is not enough, and the agent has to make something. Wabi makes mini-apps for a household. Our employees make research, reports, dashboards, apps and video for a business. The other difference is price. Wabi is free while it looks for a business model. On CellCog you pay for the work, not the hire, and the cost depends purely on how much work you assign.

## What we are watching

- **A business model.** TechCrunch reported Wabi is free and has not chosen how to charge. The first price will show who Wabi thinks its customer is.
- **User numbers.** Neither the release nor the coverage gives one.
- **Windows,** which the release says is coming soon.
- **Shared data in practice.** Scoping personal information to one chat is the right default; the test is how it holds up in big group threads.
