# CellCog: Hire AI Employees

General-purpose AI employees for any role, each with its own inbox, routines, cloud browser, and a memory that lasts, built on the CellCog super-agent.

---

## The Future of Work

By 2035, every business will employ dozens of AI workers, handing off operational work to focus on relationships, decisions, and judgment. CellCog is building that today: **AI employees you can hire for any role.**

---

## Our Product: AI Employees

An **AI employee** is a general-purpose AI worker you hire for a role. You set its goals and permissions; it shows up with its own inbox, works on the routines you and it define, keeps a memory across sessions, and pulls in your other AI employees when the job needs them, all while you sleep.

What makes this possible is what's underneath. An AI employee **is** a CellCog **super-agent**, a deep-reasoning engine that works across every modality, given a name, a memory, an inbox, and a place in your organization. So it isn't boxed into one narrow task: it can research, analyze, write code, create documents and media, and operate the tools you connect.

### What an AI employee has

- 🪪 **An identity**: a name, a job title, and its own email address (`name@cellcog.com`); mail sent to `name+tag@cellcog.com` reaches it too
- ⏰ **Routines**: it is on demand at the base, plus named time triggers, each carrying its own standing brief. You create routines on the Routines page, the employee can propose its own, and a coworker employee can add one for a team or workstream
- 🔔 **Other wakes**: it also comes to work when email arrives in its inbox, when a task lands on its board, when you message it, or when a coworker @mentions it in a channel
- 📥 **An inbox**: it sends and receives real email, with threads that persist across sessions
- ✅ **A task board**: one board for your whole organization, where every task has a status, a priority, and an assignee (an employee or a person). Time-boxed tasks expire, recurring tasks re-arm on completion, and tasks assigned to you show up in your "Waiting on you" view
- 🖥️ **An Employee Computer**: an OS-like view of the employee with Mail, Chats, Tasks, Wake (its routines), Approvals, Browser, Files, and Settings apps
- 🌐 **A cloud browser**: its own persistent Chrome with separate identity and logins per employee by default; you can share a profile between employees by explicit choice, and open a live view to log it into a site
- 🧠 **Memory**: semantic memory of what it knows, skills for how it does things, and episodes of the events that mattered to you
- 💬 **Channels and DMs**: it talks with your people and your other employees in channels for topics and direct messages for people
- 📊 **Dashboards**: live, owner-facing views of the work it's doing, built as apps
- ✋ **Approvals**: approval thresholds and standing approvals keep you in charge of anything consequential
- 📣 **Cold outreach**: with a sending domain of your own, it can research leads and run paced, compliant outreach campaigns from its own mailbox
- 🤝 **Teamwork**: it can delegate tasks to your other AI employees and pick up tasks they leave for it

## Your Organization

One CellCog account is one organization, and one organization is one company: the company's AI employees plus the humans who sign up with that company's email domain. Membership is domain-bound, so only people with an email at your company's domain can join your organization. Every account has exactly one organization; if you sign up with a consumer email you automatically get a personal organization of your own.

Running a second company means a second account with a second email at that company's domain. Multiple organizations in one account are not supported, and there is no switching between organizations. Projects organize work inside a company (documents, agent roles, members); they are not a way to separate companies, and inviting outside people into projects is not the way to build a multi-company setup.

Inside your organization:

- **Teams**: the Teams tab on the Organization page holds your team tree. Every team has one leader, human or AI employee; a person's manager is their team's leader; AI employees always sit in a real person's team
- **Members**: invitations stay pending until accepted; nobody's membership or billing changes without their consent
- **Organization Drive**: shared storage for every member and all their agents. Its `memory/skills` folder holds how your organization does things, and `memory/canon` holds the facts every agent must respect. Skills also exist at the personal level and per employee

See the [Organization Guide](./CellCog_Organization_Guide.md), [Drive Guide](./CellCog_Drive_Guide.md), and [Channels Guide](./CellCog_Channels_Guide.md).

## How do I choose a mode and tier?

Beyond AI Employees, CellCog chats run on a **Mode × Tier** grid: three interactive modes, each at a tier (**Flash · Core · Max**) that sets how much depth it runs with. An AI employee runs on this same engine; these modes are how *you* work with a super-agent directly.

### **Agent: Fast, Iterative, Suitable for Most Work**

- Fast, iterative execution with feedback after each task
- Step-by-step control over the process
- The most versatile mode, and it can be guided to do deep reasoning too

**Think of it as:** one agent that executes your instructions and iterates on feedback, across every modality, not just code.

**When to avoid:** when you need deep, multi-angled research out of the box, like academic work.

### **Agent Creative: Design & Creative Work**

- Excels as a product manager and designer: web and UI design, visual content, 3D generation
- Our most imaginative agent, for ambitious one-shot creative builds
- Avoid for programmatic work or deep research; use Agent or Agent Team for those

### **Agent Team: Deep Research & Multi-Angled Reasoning**

- A clear problem statement defined upfront
- Complex requirements that benefit from deep, multi-angled reasoning
- Comprehensive output across any modality

**Think of it as:** a team of specialized agents that research deeply, challenge each other's findings, and produce well-rounded outputs.

**When to avoid:** when many iterations are needed. Each run costs more, so Agent mode gives more control at lower cost per iteration.

### **The Tiers: Flash · Core · Max**

- **Flash**: quick and economical, answers begin almost immediately (every mode, Creative included)
- **Core**: the balanced everyday point, real reasoning depth
- **Max**: the deepest reasoning for that agent. **Agent Team on the Max tier** is the maximum-depth point for high-stakes work (legal analysis, high-stakes financial decisions, regulatory and audit work) where a wrong answer costs more than better research

**Key Differences:**
- **Agent**: one agent, fast iteration, most versatile
- **Agent Creative**: one agent, tuned for design and creative work, our most imaginative agent
- **Agent Team**: multiple agents, deep multi-angled reasoning, every modality, higher cost per run
- **Tier**: the depth dial on each mode: Flash for speed and economy, Max for depth. You can switch Agent ↔ Creative and any tier mid-chat; Agent Team is chosen at chat creation

See the [Chat Guide](./CellCog_Chat_Guide.md) for details and the minimum credits each mode needs to start.

## What are Connectors and how do they work?

Connectors let your AI employees and agents integrate with your existing software, turning thinking partners into operational workers. Everything lives on the Connectors page:

1. **Agent Tools**: let agents perform actions on external services (Gmail, Slack, Notion, and many more). In any chat, the Tools chip decides which of them may act; AI employees hold their own selection
2. **Keys**: raw credentials that land in the agent's working environment (never on your machine), captured automatically when you connect a tool or added by hand for services with no connector
3. **MCP servers**: plug in your own remote MCP servers, with no auth, an API key, or "Sign in (OAuth)" for OAuth-protected servers. Their tools become searchable and callable by your agents like any other tool
4. **Platforms**: import files from Google Drive
5. **Delegations**: bring CellCog into the tools your team already uses (Linear, OpenClaw, Cursor, Claude Code, and other coding agents). Assign work from those platforms and get results back

Two more surfaces round this out: **Cowork on my PC** and **Browse my Chrome** give agents your own machine and your own Chrome, and **Cloud Browsers** gives every AI employee a persistent browser of its own, with separate logins per employee. See the [Connectors & Tools Guide](./CellCog_Connectors_Guide.md), [Cowork Guide](./CellCog_Cowork_Guide.md), and [Browse my Chrome Guide](./CellCog_Browse_my_Chrome_Guide.md).

---

## What is the CellCog Plugin?

The CellCog plugin brings CellCog's multimodal capabilities into your coding agent. Install it in Cursor, Claude Code, or any Open Plugins conformant tool, and your coding agent can delegate creative, research, and document tasks to CellCog without leaving your IDE.

**What it handles:** images, videos, audio, music, PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets, research reports, 3D models, memes, diagrams, prototypes, game assets, stickers, all from natural language prompts.

See the [Plugin Guide](./CellCog_Plugin_Guide.md) for installation and usage.
