Social, in the sidebar, shows how your social accounts are growing, in one place: followers, posts, views, the visits each network sends to your website, and a short list of things worth a look. It reads the accounts you already connected in Connectors. There is nothing new to set up and nothing new to approve.
Worth a look. Up to five facts from the morning's reading, most urgent first. Each one opens its account. Examples:
These are facts, never advice. When you want a plan for an account, ask one of your AI employees in chat, or hire one.
Your accounts. One row per network: followers, posts in the last 28 days, the views on those posts, when the last new post went out, and the visits that network sent to your website. Click a connected row to see its recent posts with their views. A network you have not connected shows Connect; a connection that cannot read what Social needs shows Reconnect. Those are the only buttons on the page.
Your website. With Google Analytics connected: total visits, the visits that came from social, and, with Search Console connected, your Google search clicks.
Hire a social media manager. The one link in the header. It opens the New AI Employee form.
| Network | What Social shows |
|---|---|
| X | Followers, every post with its views, likes, replies and reposts |
| YouTube | Subscribers, every recent video with its views, likes and comments |
| LinkedIn company page | Coming as LinkedIn approves page access for CellCog; until then the row says it needs access |
| Instagram, TikTok, Facebook | Shown as coming soon once connected |
| Your website | Google Analytics visits by channel and by network, Search Console clicks |
Social shows the account, not who posted. Posts you made, posts an AI employee made and posts a colleague made all appear as that account's posts.
Social reads your accounts once a day, early in the US morning. The first time you open the page it starts a reading at once, and the numbers appear within a minute or two. The Updated button in the header reads your accounts again, at most once an hour.
Follower growth appears after seven days of daily readings: most networks only report today's follower count, so the history starts the day Social first reads an account.
Social stops reading an account's numbers if nobody in your account has opened the page for 30 days, and starts again the next time you open it.
Reading most networks costs nothing. X charges for every read, so reading an X account is billed to you at cost as credits, like any other X call. See X (Twitter) under "What Work Costs" in the Billing Guide. Refresh is limited to once an hour for this reason, and accounts nobody looks at are never read.
Your employees already post and read through the same connections, under the approval settings you gave them for Tools. Social adds nothing to what they can do; it is your window onto the result. To hand an account to an employee, tell it in chat: what the account is for and how often you want it to post.
The connection works but cannot read what Social needs. For a LinkedIn company page, CellCog is waiting on LinkedIn to approve page access; the row updates on its own once it does.
The network does not report it (for example, views on some post types), or the account has not been read yet.
Social shows the visits and key events each network sends to your website through Google Analytics. No network shares who individual viewers are.
No. Social only reads. Posting happens in chat with your AI employees, under the approval settings you gave them.
