ChatGPT’s web checkout now carries a “Family Basic” plan lineup with five monthly prices, from $8 to $500. Tibor Blaho, who tracks changes in OpenAI’s app code, posted the finding at 07:02 UTC on November 4, 2026, with a screenshot of the pricing config.
OpenAI has announced nothing. Here is what the screenshot shows, how the five entries line up against the plans OpenAI sells today, and what it leaves out, starting with how many people a family plan would cover.

Tibor Blaho posted on November 4, 2026 that a Family Basic subscription lineup appeared in ChatGPT’s web checkout pricing config.
The screenshot shows five entries, family_basic_go to family_basic_promax, at $8, $20, $100, $200 and $500 a month, tax exclusive.
Each amount equals an individual plan OpenAI sells today: Go, Plus, Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500.
The config has no seat count or feature list, so it does not say how many people a family plan covers.
OpenAI has not announced a family plan; its pricing page still says Go, Free and Plus are for individuals.
§ 01What the leaked config shows
Blaho’s post reads that a Family Basic subscription lineup “showed up in the ChatGPT web app checkout pricing config”. His screenshot shows five keys, each with a monthly amount and tax listed as exclusive:
| Config key | Monthly amount (USD) | Tax |
|---|---|---|
| family_basic_go | 8.00 | Exclusive |
| family_basic_plus | 20.00 | Exclusive |
| family_basic_prolite | 100.00 | Exclusive |
| family_basic_pro | 200.00 | Exclusive |
| family_basic_promax | 500.00 | Exclusive |
The screenshot shows no seat count, no feature list and no name a customer would see. Crypto Briefing, which wrote up the finding at 07:07 UTC, five minutes after Blaho’s post, said: “There is no listed price, no published description of features, and no confirmation of how many people such a plan would cover.” The screenshot does carry amounts, but nothing in it says they are what a family would pay.
§ 02The amounts match today’s individual plans
Every amount in the leak equals the price of a plan OpenAI already sells to one person. OpenAI’s pricing page lists Go at $8 and Plus at $20 a month, and its help page lists three Pro plans: “Pro 100”, “Pro 200” and “Pro 500”.
| Leaked key | Amount | Individual plan at that price | Individual price |
|---|---|---|---|
| family_basic_go | $8 | Go | $8 |
| family_basic_plus | $20 | Plus | $20 |
| family_basic_prolite | $100 | Pro 100 | $100 |
| family_basic_pro | $200 | Pro 200 | $200 |
| family_basic_promax | $500 | Pro 500 | $500 |
Two readings fit. The family tier could cost the same as the individual plan and add members on top, which would be a large discount per person. Or the amounts could be placeholders copied from the individual entries while the real prices are still being set. The config alone cannot tell them apart.
The key names also say something about OpenAI’s naming. The $100 and $500 Pro plans sit in code as prolite and promax, the internal names behind what OpenAI launched as Pro 100 and Pro 500; we covered how Pro Max became Pro 500 in our ChatGPT Pro 500 explainer.
§ 03What OpenAI says about sharing today
OpenAI’s pricing page states that “Go, Free, and Plus plans are designed to be used by individuals.” Sharing is sold only through Business, which the same page prices from $20 per user per month billed annually for two or more users. Users have asked for a family plan in several threads on OpenAI’s community forum, without an answer from OpenAI.
§ 04What nobody has confirmed
- Members. How many people a Family Basic plan would cover. The config has no seat field.
- Price. Whether $8 to $500 is the family price or a copy of the individual price.
- Separate accounts. Whether each member gets their own chats and memory, the main ask in user requests.
- Launch. OpenAI’s help center and blog say nothing about a family plan as of 11:40 UTC on November 4, 2026.
Config entries do not always ship; the same kind of finding preceded launched plans and some that never appeared. We will update this page when OpenAI publishes anything.
§ 05Sharing work, not just a login
Family plans answer a household question: who gets to use the assistant. Running a household or a small business raises a second one: who does the recurring work. A CellCog AI virtual assistant keeps its own memory, inbox and task board, works on the errands and admin you hand it, and asks before anything you have marked as needing your yes.
