SpaceXSI announced The X Subscription on October 12, 2026: one plan family that brings Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium together in five tiers, from Free to Ultra at $200 a month. For Grok Bot buyers the headline is the entry price. Grok Bot now starts at the $30 Premium tier, and the $20 Cursor Pro route that had been the cheapest way in since August 26 is closed to new sign-ups.

  1. Four cards merging into one: a bundle.
SpaceXSI announced The X Subscription on October 12, 2026: one plan family for Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium, in five tiers from Free to Ultra.
  2. A price ladder: five tiers.
Prices: Free $0, Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100 and Ultra $200 a month. Team seats cost the same per seat as Premium, Super or Ultra.
  3. A tag with an up arrow: the entry price rose.
Grok Bot starts at Premium, $30 a month. For new customers that replaces the $20 Cursor Pro route, the cheapest way in since August 26.
  4. One shared pool: shared usage.
Usage is one weekly pool shared across Grok and Cursor; within Grok it covers Chat, Imagine, Voice and Grok Bot. In August, Grok Bot had its own pool.
  5. A meter with coins: pay as you go.
Third-party models in Cursor stay available on Premium and up, billed separately at API list prices through top-ups. Plus runs Grok models only.
  6. A key in a lock: existing plans kept.
Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers keep their plans for now; the old plans are closed to new sign-ups.

§ 01What SpaceXSI announced

The announcement went out on X at 22:48 UTC: “We’ve unified plans across Grok, Cursor, and X Premium.” The x.ai post itself carries an October 2 date. In its words: “Today we’re introducing The X Subscription, which brings together Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium in one plan.” It says the plans roll out globally over the next few days.

The pitch is price. SpaceXSI describes Premium as “The benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, previously $90/month combined” and says each new tier gives more usage per dollar than the plan it replaces. On coding: “Each X Subscription plan includes at least twice as much coding usage with our models as the comparable Cursor plan.”

§ 02The five plans

Plan Price per month Included usage Grok Bot Notes
Free $0 Limited No Daily Grok access, a starter allowance for Cursor’s agents, standard X
Plus $8 Base No Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Build, the Grok API, Cursor (Grok models only), X checkmark
Premium $30 4x Plus Yes Latest Grok models, cloud agents, code hosting and reviews, third-party models at API list price
Super $100 15x Plus Yes Priority model access at peak times
Ultra $200 50x Plus Yes Earliest access to products and models
Teams $30+ per seat 4x to 50x Plus, pooled Yes Same per-seat prices as Premium, Super and Ultra, plus SSO, admin controls and SOC 2

The same grid appears on Cursor’s pricing page, which now sells The X Subscription instead of its old Pro and Ultra plans and notes that only Grok models are available on Plus.

§ 03What changes for Grok Bot

Grok Bot’s cheapest individual route has changed three times since its August 11 launch.

Date Cheapest route Price per month
August 11 (launch) Cursor Ultra $200
August 21 Cursor Pro+ $60
August 26 Cursor Pro $20
October 12 (new customers) The X Subscription Premium $30
Table 2Cheapest individual route to Grok Bot, by date (CellCog records from SpaceXAI and Cursor announcements)

Two things changed besides the price.

  • One pool, not two. In August, SpaceXAI said Grok Bot usage sat in its own pool, separate from Grok and Cursor plan usage (our August 26 record). Now: “Within Grok, the pool covers Chat, Imagine, Voice, and Grok Bot.” Heavy Grok Bot work and heavy Cursor coding draw from the same allowance. “Your allowance refreshes weekly, so one heavy day never wipes out your whole month.”
  • Third-party models cost extra. Claude and GPT models stay available in Cursor on Premium and up, billed at API list prices through top-ups. Existing Cursor plans keep their included third-party usage until the subscriber switches.

§ 04If you already pay for SuperGrok or Cursor

Nothing changes on day one. You can keep your plan or switch and get a prorated refund, and SpaceXSI says switching comes with limited-time offers in your billing settings. But: “The previous plans are no longer available for new sign-ups.” And on the long run: “Eventually we’ll move any remaining customers to the new plans, but there’s no timeline yet, and we’ll give advance notice before anything changes.”

So the $20 Cursor Pro route to Grok Bot now lives only in existing accounts. For someone already paying for SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+ separately, Premium at $30 is a clear saving. For someone who only wanted Grok Bot, the floor rose by $10.

§ 05What is not published

  • Allowance sizes. SpaceXSI gives multiples (Premium is 4x Plus, Ultra 50x) but no absolute amounts, the same gap our pricing page has tracked since August.
  • The comparable plan. The post says each tier beats “the comparable plan it replaces” without naming which old plan maps to which tier.
  • The date. The x.ai page says October 2; the announcement on X went out October 12, and our watcher first saw the page that evening.

§ 06What this means if you are choosing an agent platform

Our conflict, declared: CellCog competes with Grok Bot for the same buyers, and every CellCog tier runs Claude Opus 5.5.

The X Subscription makes Grok Bot one feature in a consumer bundle, next to chat, image generation and checkmarks, drawing on a shared weekly allowance. That is a good deal if you use all four products. It is a different shape from hiring AI employees: each CellCog AI employee runs on its own secure VM and file system with its own browser identity and logins, and keeps its memory from one session to the next. Our Grok Bot alternatives page compares the options side by side.

§ 07What we are watching

  • Allowance numbers. The first SpaceXSI or user report that puts absolute sizes on the weekly pools.
  • The migration date for remaining SuperGrok and Cursor subscribers.
  • Grok Bot on Plus. Whether a lower tier gains Grok Bot as the bundle settles.

Frequently asked6 questions

Q1Does the Plus plan include Grok Bot?

No. SpaceXSI’s pricing page lists Grok Bot from Premium up. Plus includes Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Build, the Grok API and Cursor with Grok models only.

Q2What happens to my Cursor Pro or SuperGrok plan?

Nothing for now. You can keep it or switch with a prorated refund. SpaceXSI says it will eventually move remaining customers, with no timeline yet.

Q3Is Grok Bot usage still a separate pool?

No. On The X Subscription one weekly pool covers Grok and Cursor, and within Grok it covers Chat, Imagine, Voice and Grok Bot.

Q4How big is each plan's allowance?

SpaceXSI publishes multiples, not absolute amounts: Premium is 4x Plus, Super 15x and Ultra 50x.

Q5Can I still use Claude or GPT models in Cursor?

On Premium and above, billed separately at API list prices through top-ups. Plus is limited to Grok models.

Q6Does CellCog work like Grok Bot?

No. Each CellCog AI employee runs on its own secure VM and file system with its own browser identity and logins, and every CellCog tier runs on Claude Opus 5.5.
